Crochet Heart Pillow Free Pattern

I was originally going to design the pillows to look like candy conversation hearts.

The plaid pillow with heart is a free crochet pattern and made using single crochet stitches and the plaid crochet pattern technique. Pattern is written in us crochet terminology. Perfect for a fun throw pillow for a chair or bed or for a little one to rest their head on while reading. For valentine s day i decided to design a heart pillow.

Crochet all the way down and around the heart and up the opposite side. This pattern includes instructions for two sizes of heart pillows. I think the pillows look like boxes of valentine chocolates. Place the two panels together matching up all sides.

You ll need worsted weight yarn and a 4 5mm crochet hook. My favorite time of the year is the winter season especially the holiday season. Now i know we are months away from that time of the year but it does help to start making gifts earlier in the year. Once i got started though i changed my mind and decided to use white yarn for the font as opposed to red.

You should now have two completed heart panels like so. Using hook size f 5 3 75 mm heart pillow measures approximately 7 5 inches wide by 8 inches tall including the ruffle. At the end of each row the number of stitches for completion is noted in parenthesis. Blo back loop only.

Chain 1 and single crochet the two heart pieces together through the single crochet stitches on the borders. Starting on the left side at the top begin attaching the panels together by chaining one and single crocheting around the outside of the panels in blossom using two strands. The smaller pillow measures 8 wide x 7 5 tall. I also added a scallop border.
